About The Position

Ozarks Community Hospital (OCH) in Gravette, Arkansas, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Emergency Room department. The hospital's mission is to provide exceptional healthcare and preventive services with compassion, respect, and dignity, focusing on serving the underserved and improving access to care. The Emergency Room Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating the nursing care of patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric, who present with a wide range of conditions from illness/injury to wellness. This role involves prioritizing patient care based on acuity, collaborating with other disciplines and ancillary services, and providing instruction and assistance with follow-up care. All actions must align with the hospital's Standards of Practice, Mission Statement, goals, and Employee Code of Conduct.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arkansas or Compact Licensure State.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
  • Current ACLS certification upon hire or must be obtained during orientation period or at next available scheduled class.
  • Current PALS certification upon hire or must be obtained during orientation period or at next available scheduled class.
  • Knowledge and ability to care for a wide range of patients from trauma to non-urgent complaints.

Nice To Haves

  • Recertification required before expiration throughout employment for BLS.
  • ACLS certification must be maintained by renewal during renewal period or at next available scheduled class throughout employment.
  • PALS certification must be maintained by renewal during renewal period or at next available scheduled class throughout employment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the nursing care of patients presenting to the Emergency Department ranging in age from pediatric to geriatric.
  • Performing all aspects of patient care for those presenting to the Emergency Department, prioritizing based on acuity.
  • Working with other disciplines/ancillary services in coordinating the care they provide.
  • Providing instruction and assistance with follow up care.
  • Helping patients along a needed continuum of healthcare.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of drug therapies and psychosocial aspects/needs of the Emergency Room.
