Registered Nurse - 5 West Intensive Care Step Down

About The Position

The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care within the assigned unit’s scope of practice, following hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, and standards of care and practice. This role is in the Intensive Care Step Down department, with a night shift schedule of 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and 72 scheduled hours biweekly.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Hold a current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
Hold American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification as a Healthcare Provider.
RNs in Step-Down must obtain ACLS within six months of hire into the department.
Experience specific to the unit or position may be required to maintain the unit's overall competency level, as required by the regulatory agency.

Nice To Haves

One year of professional nursing experience.
ACLS certification in other units.
Experience in a specialty area will be considered.

Responsibilities

Assess each assigned patient, document and evaluate the patient's response to the plan of care, and take appropriate corrective action.
Plan and implement the patient's plan of care or standard of care and provide patient teaching using that plan.
Oversee ancillary personnel performing technical tasks.
