Registered Nurse - Newborn Nursery
About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the Newborn Nursery delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and responds promptly and accurately to changes in a patient’s condition or response to treatment. The role includes directing and guiding patient and family teaching, as well as activities of other nursing personnel, while maintaining professional nursing standards. The nurse helps ensure a safe environment for patients and visitors and uses the chain of command when needed to support patient well-being and appropriate care from post-delivery stabilization through discharge.
Requirements
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license issued by the state.
- BCLS certification upon hire and maintained as current.
- NRP certification within 30 days of hire and maintained as current.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
- Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel.
- Maintain standards of professional nursing.
- Provide a safe environment for patients and visitors.
- Use the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriate care from post-delivery stabilization through discharge.
