About The Position

Provides breastfeeding assistance and childbirth education programs to applicable patients. Facilitates lactation education, resources, and support for patients and healthcare providers, including nurses, midwives, physicians, educators, and social service personnel, ensuring services are consistent with organizational policies, applicable research, and current standards. Delivers individual and classroom lactation education as needed. Evaluates specific lactation problems by telephone and develops a management and follow-up plan of care when indicated.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, or an RN license evidencing completion of an RN program.
California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
IBLCE-Certified Lactation Consultant certification.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
Two years of recent relevant experience.
Maternal-infant assessment skills.
Organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, problem solve, and meet deadlines.
Interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to gather data and complete reports on a timely basis.
Written and verbal interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
