About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to Emergency/Trauma patients. The RN coordinates and integrates patient care according to the needs of the patient and family members, and directs care in accordance with established safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection-control standards. The goal is to discharge the patient from the Emergency Department with an optimum level of care provided.

This is a seasonal contract position working full-time hours on the day shift.

Requirements

• Education recognized by the State of Florida as qualification for Registered Nurse licensure.
• At least one year of experience in a medical/surgical area.
• Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida.
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification.
• PALS certification required within one year of employment.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required within six months of employment.
• TNCC required within 18 months of employment in the position.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience in an Emergency Room setting.
• Hazmat certification (preferred, but not required).
• ENPC is strongly encouraged.
• CEN certification (preferred, but not required).

Responsibilities

• Report for scheduled shifts on time and prepared to assume responsibilities.
• Attend and participate in meetings and take responsibility for information communicated at meetings.
• Adhere to corporate, regional, hospital, and departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist patients, family members, physicians, visitors, and employees in a professional and courteous manner.
• Follow infection-control procedures at all times.
• Adapt care to varied age-specific patient populations.
• Coordinate and integrate patient care based on patient and family needs.
• Direct care according to established safety, risk-management, quality-improvement, and infection-control standards.
