About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to Emergency/Trauma patients. The RN coordinates and integrates patient care based on the needs of patients and their family members, and directs care according to established safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control standards. The goal is to discharge patients from the Emergency Department after providing an optimum level of care.

This is a seasonal contract position with full-time hours on the day shift at Delray Medical Center.

Requirements

• Education recognized by the State of Florida as qualifying for Registered Nurse licensure.
• At least one year of experience in a Med/Surg area.
• Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida.
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
• PALS certification required within one year of employment.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required within six months of employment.
• TNCC required within 18 months of employment in the position.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience in an Emergency Room setting.
• Hazmat certification.
• CEN certification.
• ENPC is strongly encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Report for scheduled shifts on time and prepared to assume responsibilities.
• Attend and participate in meetings and take responsibility for information communicated at meetings.
• Adhere to corporate, regional, hospital, and departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist patients, family members, physicians, visitors, and employees in a professional and courteous manner.
• Follow infection control procedures at all times.
• Adapt care to varied age-specific patient populations.
• Coordinate and integrate patient care based on the needs of patients and their family members.
• Direct care according to established safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control standards.
