About The Position

Indiana University Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for an 18-bed progressive telemetry unit at Ball Memorial in Muncie, Indiana. The unit provides high-quality, compassionate care to multispecialty medical-surgical patients, with a focus on heart failure and cardiac diagnoses. Patients also include progressive-care and step-down patients, as well as people with respiratory failure, sepsis, DKA, and other diagnoses. Nurses develop clinical expertise, critical-thinking skills, and a strong nursing foundation while collaborating with an experienced team. The unit emphasizes partnership in patient care, teamwork, professional engagement, learning, and growth. New graduate nurses receive a six-week orientation. The listed schedule is part-time or full-time nights.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing (ASN) required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program is required. Candidates from a non-nationally accredited program may be considered if they have more than two years of acute-care experience, subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer.
• Current Indiana Registered Nurse license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required based on unit or department specialty and patient-care policies.
• ACLS is required for the unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to multispecialty medical-surgical and progressive-care patients.
• Care for patients with heart failure, cardiac diagnoses, respiratory failure, sepsis, DKA, and other conditions.
• Care for step-down patients and patients going to cardiac procedures.
• Collaborate with the nursing team using a partnership-based approach to patient care.
