RN Registered Nurse - Internal Float Pool Medical Surgical Units - West Allis
About The Position
The Registered Nurse – Level 1 Float Pool works in medical-surgical areas at Aurora West Allis Medical Center, supporting multiple units within one facility. The role provides variety across patient populations and requires versatility, clinical strength, teamwork, and adaptability to deliver high-quality, compassionate care. Nurses may have the opportunity to cross-train in a second specialty such as ICU, ER, or Women’s Health. This position offers opportunities to build clinical skills and knowledge while supporting teams as a flexible resource. The position is full time, scheduled for 36 hours per week on a six-week self-scheduling basis. The shift is 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend and a minimal holiday rotation (one winter holiday and one summer holiday).
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association.
- At least 1 year of acute care RN experience; 2 years is strongly preferred.
- Commitment to ongoing learning, adaptability, and teamwork across multiple care environments.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
- Two years of acute care RN experience strongly preferred.
- Opportunity to cross-train in a second specialty such as ICU, ER, or Women’s Health.
