About The Position
The Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery Market Float Pool role provides high-quality, compassionate direct patient care across diverse specialty units while following established organizational protocols. The nurse implements and monitors patient care plans, ensures physician and nursing orders are carried out accurately and on time, and coordinates patient care by communicating and assessing needs with all members of the healthcare team. The role also requires accurate, thorough documentation of patient conditions, observations, and interventions. The position floats across various locations in the Austin, Texas metro area and has a rotating PRN schedule.
Requirements
- Certified BLS Provider, obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Certified Advanced Life Support; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Certified Registered Nurse, obtained before hire or job transfer.
- Certified Pediatric Advanced Life Support; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- AWHONN Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification.
- Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at time of hire.
Nice To Haves
- NRP Certification; American Heart Association or American Academy of Pediatrics accepted.
- At least 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate direct patient care across diverse specialty units in accordance with organizational protocols.
- Implement and continuously monitor patient care plans.
- Ensure accurate and timely execution of physician and nursing orders.
- Coordinate all aspects of a patient's care journey by serving as a central link for communication and assessment among healthcare disciplines.
- Communicate and document patient conditions, observations, and interventions to support a coordinated care plan.
