The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery facilitates communication and collaboration among the healthcare team, patients, and families to meet patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. The role promotes patient health, well-being, and safety through the nursing process, adherence to patient care standards and the State Nurse Practice Act, and accountable, relationship-based care. The position is based in a growing maternal-child unit at St. Anthony North Hospital. Beginning in October 2025, the unit comprises a 15-bed labor deck, an 18-bed postpartum unit, a 7–9-bed Level II NICU caring for infants at 32 weeks and above (occasionally down to 30 weeks), three triage beds, and two operating room suites. The hospital delivers, stabilizes, and transports patients across gestations. The unit conducts about 100 deliveries monthly and anticipates increased census and deliveries with the addition of Kaiser. It offers continuing education and role expansion opportunities, supported by flexible self-scheduling. St. Anthony North Hospital serves communities including Westminster, Erie, Brighton, Broomfield, Northglenn, and Thornton. Its campus includes physician clinics, an ambulatory surgery center, a birthing center, a Level III Trauma Center, more than 150 inpatient beds, and outpatient diagnostic services. The hospital received Magnet designation in 2023. The RN assesses patients’ needs, develops and implements plans of care with the interdisciplinary team, performs therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, maintains accurate and confidential records, advocates for patient rights and safety, and educates patients and families. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is offered to eligible new hires.
