About The Position

The Registered Nurse is accountable for providing care to Emergency Room patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. The role requires critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for the safe delivery of patient care in the Emergency Department.

The facility is a Trauma Level III certified Stroke Receiving Facility and STEMI Receiving Facility, with 38 beds. Interested candidates must be available to start within two weeks of offer acceptance.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Active nursing license in the state.
• Available to start within two weeks of offer acceptance.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Cerner EMR.
• Charge nurse experience.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is recommended but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Use the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and scientific judgment in all aspects of patient care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education and professional development.
• Delegate patient care responsibilities based on the education and experience of available staff.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
• Ensure compliance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Assist with patient flow management and prioritize care based on patient needs.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Float to other areas as needed.
