About The Position

Sentara BelleHarbour Emergency Department is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department! This is a Full Time position with a Day Shift schedule from 7a-7p. The role is ideal for someone seeking a fast-paced, team-centered environment with daily challenges and meaningful impact. The Sentara BelleHarbour Emergency Department operates 24/7 as a licensed extension of Sentara Obici Hospital, featuring a state-of-the-art, free-standing facility with 22 treatment spaces, including fast track rooms, 10 focused care, and 12 high acuity care rooms. Nurses are specially trained to care for both adult and pediatric patients, providing high-quality, compassionate care. The department offers strong clinical leadership, advanced technology, and a collaborative, team-focused environment. A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is available for qualified candidates. Experienced Registered Nurses can expect an orientation period of 10 weeks on the unit.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
• Registered nursing License (Required)
• ACLS required prior to completion of orientation
• PALS required prior to completion of orientation
• BLS required within 90 days of hire

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
• 2 years of Emergency Room Experience (Preferred)
• Critical care experience in hospital preferred
• 2 years of acute care Registered Nurse Experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation).
• Adhere to standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
• Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
• Manage complex cases in fast-paced environments.
• Communicate effectively with patients and providers.
