About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process and professional nursing standards. The RN performs staff nurse activities and functions as charge nurse when assigned. The RN remains accountable for assigned patients, including when activities or tasks are delegated to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters. Assignments are carried out in consideration of the ages and developmental levels of the patients served. The role serves patients in all age groups.

Requirements

• Associate's degree and graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• For new hires effective June 14, 2017, obtain a BSN from an accredited school of nursing within three years of hire or transfer into the position.
• New hires or transfers into the position between August 1, 2013 and June 13, 2017 must abide by the conditions in their offer letter and the job-description wording signed upon hire or transfer.
• Current employees hired or transferred into the position before August 1, 2013 are grandfathered.
• Demonstrate teamwork and communicate professionally with all members of the healthcare team.
• Demonstrate the ability to learn and apply computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
• Be licensed to practice nursing in Florida or have a confirmation letter establishing eligibility for issuance upon receipt of an SSN.
• Hold BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross on the first day of employment.
• Required experience: less than one year of related experience.
