About The Position

The Registered Nurse at Hackensack Meridian Health provides evidence-based nursing care in accordance with nursing policies and standards of care. The role focuses on safe, individualized, patient-centered care for a diverse patient population, with particular relevance to Labor and Delivery. The nurse communicates with patients, nursing colleagues, and other healthcare team members about patient status, care provided, and treatment plans; supports patient and guest satisfaction; administers medications using clinical documentation technology; and provides patient- and family-centered care. The nurse collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to manage care plans and goals from admission through discharge and support safe transitions and continuity of care.

Requirements

Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license.
Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR certification.
NRP certification and ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
BSN must be obtained within 3 years if not already held.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs.

Nice To Haves

Experience in Maternal Child Department areas, including postpartum, nursery, special care nursery, Labor and Delivery, or NICU, is strongly preferred.
BSN is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver evidence-based nursing practices in accordance with nursing policies and standards of care to provide safe, excellent, individualized, patient-centered care to a diverse patient population.
Communicate ongoingly with patients, nursing colleagues, and other members of the healthcare team regarding patient status, care rendered, and treatment plans.
Support optimal patient and guest satisfaction and care experiences according to Hackensack Meridian Health standards.
Administer medications using clinical documentation technology designed to support safe medication delivery.
Provide patient- and family-centered care aimed at optimizing health, wellness, and disease management.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to manage patient care plans and goals from admission to discharge and ensure safe transitions and continuity of care.
