About The Position

The Registered Nurse for the Step Down unit provides comprehensive care to patients with various medical conditions and monitors and treats patients recovering from acute illnesses. The unit is an IMCU with 16-10 beds and a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1 to 4. Its patient population includes patients with sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes mellitus, substance abuse, and encephalopathy.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications, including Heparin drips and other IV therapies.
• Monitor patient vital signs and assess changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and health management.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
