About The Position

The Levine Cancer Institute - Barbara L. Levine Breast and Cutaneous Center is an adult outpatient practice specializing in the treatment of breast and cutaneous cancers. Our services include systemic therapy, hormonal therapy, and surgical interventions with select procedures performed in the clinic. Our multidisciplinary team—comprising of surgical and medical oncologists, advanced practical providers, pharmacists, nurse navigators, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, medical assistants, care coordinators, and social workers—work collaboratively to deliver patient-centered cancer care.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical nursing.
  • BSN required. RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year of Hire/Transfer date and must complete program within 3 years of enrollment in the program.
  • BLS required per policy guidelines.
  • Appropriate professional certification (either clinical or leadership) is required within 1 year of eligibility for professional certification exam.

  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required within the department by the nurse leader.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the manager utilizing systematic approaches to enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, nursing service administration and delivery of care in the department.
  • Provides direct patient care while assisting the nurse manager in daily operations, including coordination of patient care and outcomes, allocation of human and fiscal resources, communication, patient throughput, program development and oversight, rounding with patients, physicians, and staff, as well as staff selection, development, and retention.
  • Collaborates with other clinical team members in assessing and supporting psychosocial needs of the patient/family.
