About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) at Levine Cancer Institute - Barbara L. Levine Breast and Cutaneous Center, an adult outpatient practice specializing in the treatment of breast and cutaneous cancers. The practice offers services including systemic therapy, hormonal therapy, and surgical interventions. The multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to deliver patient-centered cancer care. The RN will support the manager in daily operations, including coordination of patient care, resource allocation, communication, patient throughput, program development, rounding, and staff selection, development, and retention. The role also involves direct patient care and collaborating with the clinical team to support the psychosocial needs of patients and their families.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical nursing.
  • BSN required. RN candidates for external hire or internal promotion without BSN must be enrolled in a BSN program within 1 year of Hire/Transfer date and must complete program within 3 years of enrollment in the program.
  • BLS required per policy guidelines.
  • Appropriate professional certification (either clinical or leadership) is required within 1 year of eligibility for professional certification exam.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the manager utilizing systematic approaches to enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, nursing service administration and delivery of care in the department.
  • Provides direct patient care while assisting the nurse manager in daily operations, including coordination of patient care and outcomes, allocation of human and fiscal resources, communication, patient throughput, program development and oversight, rounding with patients, physicians, and staff, as well as staff selection, development, and retention.
  • Collaborates with other clinical team members in assessing and supporting psychosocial needs of the patient/family.
