About The Position

ChristianaCare, a healthcare organization with 1100 beds between two Magnet® recognized hospitals (Christiana and Wilmington) and the only Level 1 Trauma service on the East Coast corridor between Philadelphia and Baltimore, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Union Hospital in Elkton, Maryland. This position is 36 hours per week, with typical hours from 7 am to 7 pm and occasional rotation. Weekend and Holiday requirements are per the department's guidelines. The unit is a Medical ICU that cares for complex patients including those with sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure requiring CRRT, stroke diagnoses, substance abuse requiring high-level medications, GI bleeds, DKA, hyponatremia, and patients who have obtained ROSC, among other diagnoses. The role involves working in an interdisciplinary team approach with pharmacy, respiratory, intensivist, PAs, and other consultants to provide patient-centered care. The intensivist is housed directly on the ICU unit, facilitating communication and enabling nursing to provide quality patient care. This is a great opportunity to start or grow critical care knowledge, especially for those looking to advance skills in caring for acutely ill patients. The ICU is a 9-bed unit with a 2:1 patient ratio.
