About The Position

This role emphasizes health promotion and disease prevention, assisting patients and families through their episode of care. The nurse delegates, oversees, and provides quality, safe, and developmentally appropriate patient care. The position is 36 hours per week, 0.9 FTE, and is benefits-eligible. A valid Ohio driver's license and proof of auto insurance are required, along with passing a motor vehicle background inspection and meeting insurance eligibility and driving qualifications set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school, required.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio, required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, required.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
  • Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred.
  • Must successfully complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
  • Three years of pediatric clinical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
  • Assesses individualized patient needs and plans, implements, educates, and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
  • Ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with regulatory and policy compliance.
  • Works closely with providers and other team members to ensure a smooth clinic flow addressing patient/parent concerns and attaining positive patient and family outcomes.
  • Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Engages in the “workplace community” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
