About The Position

Rutherford Regional Health System is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department, a rural 20-bed unit serving Rutherford County and surrounding communities. The nurse provides patient-centered emergency care across a wide range of acuity levels in a fast-paced, team-oriented community hospital. The role involves close collaboration with providers, ancillary departments, and inpatient teams to support timely assessment, treatment, stabilization, and transition of care. The department values communication, collaboration, quality outcomes, and offers self-scheduling. The schedule is 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Requirements

• Current RN license to practice in North Carolina; North Carolina licensure or a multistate compact license is accepted.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Associate degree in nursing required.
• One year of RN experience as an Emergency Department RN required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and thorough patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings.
• Provide age- and condition-appropriate nursing care.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record.
• Develop, implement, and revise interdisciplinary care plans for each patient.
