About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process and in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. The role delivers compassionate, high-quality care to patients across a range of ages and needs, implements individualized plans of care, uses current technology and best practices, and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to support patient outcomes. This is a PRN day-shift position at Maria Parham Franklin in Louisburg, North Carolina.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a compact license.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing program.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
ACLS and PALS certifications must be acquired within 90 days of the start date.
One year of RN experience.
If relocating, update licensure to the new Primary State of Residence before employment begins.

Responsibilities

Perform plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
Document patient care provided.
Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial or spiritual support needs.
Evaluate patient and family learning needs and provide appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
Provide quality patient care and work flexible shifts or units as needed.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
