About The Position

Loyola University Medical Center (LUMC) Ambulatory seeks a Registered Nurse dedicated to providing exceptional, person-centered care. The team-oriented role offers opportunities to manage a wide range of diagnoses, develop nursing skills, and grow professionally. The position is located at Loyola University Medical Center, approximately 30 minutes from downtown Chicago. The RN assesses patients, develops individualized care plans, triages incoming needs, coordinates treatment and follow-up with healthcare providers, and educates and supports patients and families. The role also includes maintaining patient records, documenting interactions and care, and handling appointment scheduling and other administrative tasks.

Requirements

Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing; BSN or ADN.
BLS provider certification accredited by the American Heart Association, required before hire.
Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois.
1–2 years of previous experience in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ health status, including vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms.
Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments.
Triage patients by evaluating the urgency of their conditions and prioritizing care.
Determine appropriate next steps for treatment or referral to support timely and effective care.
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care, communicate effectively, and manage treatments and follow-ups.
Educate patients and families about managing health conditions, medication administration, and lifestyle changes.
Provide emotional support and answer questions to help patients navigate their care.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records, including charting care and documenting patient interactions.
Manage appointment scheduling and other administrative tasks.
