About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the care of outpatients during scheduled physician visits or telephone encounters. Under the direction of a licensed physician or advanced practice clinician (APC), the RN assesses, implements, and evaluates the care needed by assigned patients. The RN applies knowledge of nursing principles, theories, current methods, and techniques, using the nursing process to collaborate with patients, their families or significant others, professional peers, and other members of the healthcare team to individualize care. The RN also directs nursing support staff in providing patient care in accordance with nursing practice standards and administrative and departmental policies and procedures. Professional education, training, or additional certifications may be required depending on the specialty area.

This is a full-time position at Fox Chase Cancer Center, scheduled for 36 hours per week on a flexible day shift from 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. Every-other-weekend and holiday work is required as needed.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license, or a multistate compact RN license.
• Basic Life Support certification.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience in the area of clinical specialty.
• General experience in case management.
