Contract Registered Nurse - Operating Room
About The Position
Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, the Registered Nurse delivers nursing care to patients in the operating room and other areas of perioperative services across all patient populations. The nurse functions as a circulating or scrub nurse, as assigned, during operative and other invasive procedures and throughout the perioperative continuum, consistent with their scope of practice, credentials, privileges, experience, education, and verified competencies. The role includes assisting with robotic and general surgery cases. Job duties must align with Tampa General Hospital’s mission, vision, values, and quality-improvement principles. This is a contract opportunity through InterHealth Staffing, the for-profit staffing division of Tampa General Hospital. Contract assignments are 13–26 weeks, offer competitive pay, and are designed with a strong focus on conversion to permanent employment. Extensions may be available based on business needs and mutual interest.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Two years of perioperative RN experience.
- Level I Trauma experience.
- Neurosurgical experience.
- Orthopedic experience.
Nice To Haves
- Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) preferred.
- Scrub experience strongly preferred.
- Robotic experience strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
