About The Position

Danbury Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department. The nurse provides professional care and assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients during a designated time frame, using the nursing process in collaboration with other health care team members. This is a full-time, 36-hour-per-week position on the 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. shift, including every other weekend. The position is based at Danbury Hospital, 24 Hospital Avenue, Danbury, Connecticut.

Requirements

• Current State of Connecticut Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least 6 months of Emergency Department RN experience.
• Associate’s-level degree.

Nice To Haves

• Nursing certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Perform ongoing, systematic assessments of patients’ physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status.
• Develop a goal-directed plan of care based on nursing diagnoses and patient outcomes, with priorities established.
• Implement care knowledgeably, skillfully, consistently, and continuously.
• Prioritize patient care according to essential patient needs and available resources.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care and patients’ progress toward outcomes.
• Identify patients’ and significant others’ learning needs and implement appropriate measures to address them.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary functions.
• Fulfill compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
