Registered Nurse (RN) Weekend Package Nights

About The Position
Care Initiatives is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate care to residents in a skilled nursing environment. The role is part of a weekend package and works full-time night shifts from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The nurse supports daily clinical operations, helps ensure resident safety and quality care, and works with residents, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues. Care Initiatives operates more than 40 skilled nursing communities throughout Iowa.
Requirements
- Hold a valid RN license in good standing; the license must be valid in Iowa or the candidate must be able to activate it.
- Hold a current, valid CPR certification.
- Have knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations and laws.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to helping others and treat them with empathy, respect, patience, and discretion.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing environment.
- Support daily clinical operations on the unit while ensuring quality care and resident safety.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time.
- Monitor resident conditions and respond promptly to changes in status.
- Collaborate with CNAs, LPNs, providers, and other interdisciplinary team members to promote teamwork and high-quality care.
- Communicate effectively with residents and families regarding care needs.
- Document care accurately to meet clinical, regulatory, and facility standards.
- Follow infection control, safety, and compliance protocols.
