About The Position

The Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse (RN) delivers nursing care to patients by assessing patient status, prioritizing patient problems and needs, and developing and carrying out care plans to improve outcomes. The RN serves as a care service line between Med-Surg and ICU units and helps maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• One year of RN experience.
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification from an approved source must be obtained before direct patient care; ACLS is required within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Six months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• BLS or ACLS certification at hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyze assessment data, create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate its effectiveness.
• Serve as a point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
• Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing departmental quality improvement.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with state practice requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
