About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in the OB High Risk department at Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, Tennessee, on a PRN day schedule. The role implements and monitors patient care plans, observes and communicates patient condition, coordinates care across disciplines, carries out physician and nursing orders, and coordinates discharge planning with the healthcare team. Applicants must have a nursing diploma or meet the stated professional licensure alternative. Required credentials include a Tennessee Board of Nursing licensed compact-state Registered Nurse credential, BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire or transfer, and Advanced Life Support within 180 days. Neonatal Resuscitation certification or instructor credential from the American Academy of Pediatrics is also required within 180 days. Labor and Delivery experience is required.

Requirements

Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at the time of hire.
Tennessee Board of Nursing licensed compact-state Registered Nurse credential obtained before hire or job transfer.
BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 30 days of hire or job transfer.
Advanced Life Support credential from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 180 days of hire or job transfer.
Either an AAP Neonatal Resuscitation instructor credential or an AAP Neonatal Resuscitation certification within 180 days of hire or job transfer.
Labor and Delivery experience.

Responsibilities

Implement and monitor patient care plans.
Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
Serve as the primary coordinator across disciplines to support well-coordinated patient care.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
