Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
About The Position
The Registered Nurse will provide labor and delivery care in an acute care hospital. The role requires independent performance of sterile vaginal examinations without supervision, as well as the ability to meet the facility’s sterile vaginal exam and triage requirements. Nurses may float to the Mother Baby unit. The facility uses Meditech for charting. This position requires weekend availability, generally every other weekend and potentially more often to meet unit needs. Scheduling preferences may be considered but are not guaranteed. Block scheduling is subject to manager discretion. The facility may call off the nurse once per two-week pay period. The position is not on call.
Requirements
- At least 1.5 years of experience is required; candidates with less than 2 years may be considered depending on experience.
- Expert experience and the ability to perform sterile vaginal examinations independently without supervision.
- Epic experience is required.
- Current ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BCLS, and NRP certifications are required.
- Must be open to working weekends, generally every other weekend and potentially more often to meet unit needs.
- Pending licenses are not accepted.
- AWHONN and passing sterile vaginal examination and triage requirements are hard stops.
