About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery department at Ascension St. Vincent Carmel. The position is full-time, working nights with three 12-hour shifts per week, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, and includes a rotation every 4th weekend. The nurse will implement and monitor patient care plans, coordinate care among different disciplines, carry out physician and nursing orders, and assess patient discharge planning needs.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
• At least one or two years of current labor and delivery or high risk OB experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
