About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery department at Ascension St. Vincent Carmel. The position is full-time, with evening shifts consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week, from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM. The schedule includes working every 4th weekend on a rotation. The nurse will implement and monitor patient care plans, monitor and communicate patient conditions, serve as a primary coordinator for patient care across disciplines, note and carry out physician and nursing orders, and assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
• Must have at least 2 years labor and delivery experience.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
• Prefer OB triage experience or OR experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
