Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit
About The Position
Sentara CarePlex Hospital is recruiting a Registered Nurse for its 24-bed medical-surgical Intensive Care Unit in Hampton, Virginia. The unit uses eICU monitoring and cares for patients with conditions including COPD, CHF, suspected myocardial infarction, respiratory failure, GI bleeds, pancreatitis, renal and liver failure, and multiple organ failure with or without sepsis. Its surgical population includes vascular and ENT surgery patients, and it is a primary stroke center. ICU devices include PRISMAX and balloon pumps. The role’s primary duties include assessing and admitting patients, performing rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and overseeing patients’ overall care. The position offers day and night shifts, with schedules of 7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, and 36 scheduled hours per week. Requirements
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State nursing license in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
- RN education through an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, diploma, or master’s degree.
Responsibilities
