About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering nursing care within the assigned unit’s scope of practice. Care must follow hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, and applicable standards of care and practice. This position is in the Intensive Care Unit and works a night shift from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, with 72 scheduled hours per biweekly period.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification as a Healthcare Provider.
• ACLS certification is required within six months of hire into the department for RNs in the Intensive Care Unit.
• Experience specific to the unit or position may be required to maintain the unit’s overall competency level, as required by a regulatory agency.

Nice To Haves

• One year of professional nursing experience.
• ACLS certification is preferred in other units.

Responsibilities

• Assess each assigned patient, document and evaluate the patient’s response to the plan of care, and take appropriate corrective action.
• Plan and implement the patient’s plan of care or standard of care, and provide patient teaching using that plan.
• Oversee ancillary personnel performing technical tasks.
