About The Position

Premiere Healthcare Staffing is hiring a psychiatric Registered Nurse for a 12-week assignment in the Psych department in Dover, New Jersey. The position is full-time, night shift, with listed weekly gross pay of $1,920.00–$2,490.80. The role involves providing nursing care and support to patients with mental health needs, including therapeutic groups and psychiatric crisis intervention.

Requirements

Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current certification.
Working knowledge of mental health laws and practice standards.
Working knowledge of the interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.
At least one year of RN experience in a psychiatric nursing department.

Responsibilities

Treat patients and educate them about mental and medical conditions.
Provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.
Run therapeutic groups and provide psychiatric crisis intervention.
Manage patient seclusion and restraint when required.
Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms.
Help perform diagnostic tests and analyze results.
Operate medical machinery.
Administer treatments and medications.
Help with patient follow-up and rehabilitation.
Teach patients and families about managing illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, self-administration of medication, and physical therapy.
Perform other related duties.
