About The Position

This role involves providing care to patients requiring treatment for any medical, surgical, or other condition, embracing and upholding the hospital's mission statement, and educating patients and families about their disease process and plan of care. The Registered Nurse will interact with physicians and other hospital departments, coordinate care with ancillary services, act as a patient advocate, and participate in staff meetings and unit activities. This position is for the Overflow PCU (Progressive Care Unit) and is a full-time, dayshift role.

Requirements

  • Diploma Nurses must have 5+ years of progressive care.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Licensed Registered Nurse Required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate of Science in Nursing Or Diploma Nurse Or Degree Preferred: Bachelor of Arts/Science (BA/BS)
  • 1-2 years Cardiac Experience Preferred
  • 1-2 years Telemetry Experience
  • Hospital Experience

Responsibilities

  • Provides for patient needs as recognized through the use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement.
  • Organization, supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services.
  • Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care.
  • Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care.
  • Serves as patient advocate and responsible for providing care to critical patients that require a higher acuity of care.
  • Provide care to patients requiring treatment of any medical, surgical, or other condition.
  • Embrace and uphold the hospital mission statement.
  • Educate patients and families to their disease process and plan of care.
  • Interact with physicians and other departments within the hospital.
  • Coordinate care provided by ancillary services.
  • Act as the patient advocate.
  • Participate in staff meetings and other unit activities.
