About The Position

Desert Parkway, a behavioral healthcare hospital providing psychiatric and mental health care to adolescent and adult patients, is seeking a dedicated and flexible Registered Nurse to join its clinical team. The RN delivers direct patient care, conducts psychiatric nursing assessments, responds to behavioral crises, and helps maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. This is a day-shift role from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Requirements

Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license issued by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
Current BLS/CPR certification.
Ability to stabilize acute psychotic and non-violent crises using accepted intervention techniques.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of behavioral health experience.
Charge Nurse experience.

Responsibilities

Complete comprehensive physical and psychiatric nursing assessments.
Administer medications and accurately document patient responses.
Monitor patient safety, use de-escalation techniques, and respond effectively to behavioral or medical emergencies.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and interdisciplinary treatment teams.
Maintain complete and accurate electronic medical records in compliance with mental health laws and regulations.
Perform suicide assessments and understand suicide precautions.
Identify and incorporate each patient’s unique needs into a comprehensive, individualized care plan.
Conduct patient rounds to ensure patient care and an environment that optimizes safety.
Apply medication-management knowledge to support patient care and reduce the likelihood of medical or health errors.
