About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) works in the Women’s Services unit at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, Kentucky. The 8-bed unit emphasizes teamwork and effective communication to provide patients with medical attention and support. The RN delivers and documents patient care, monitors and communicates patient conditions, assists with daily living activities, coordinates care across disciplines, educates patients and families, and advocates for patients’ physical and emotional well-being. The position is PRN.

Requirements

• Current RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
• Document patient care provided.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family as appropriate.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge, referrals, and spiritual or psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluate patient and/or family learning needs and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocate for patients’ physical and emotional well-being.
