About The Position

Jackson Purchase Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Women’s Services unit in Mayfield, Kentucky. This is an 8-bed unit that emphasizes teamwork and effective communication to provide patients with attentive medical care and support. The role involves delivering and documenting nursing care, monitoring patient conditions, coordinating with the care team, and supporting patients and families. The schedule is full-time nights, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with every third weekend.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience preferred.
• ASLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the plan of care, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
• Document care provided to patients.
• Monitor and record patient conditions and communicate updates as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge, referrals, and spiritual or psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluate the learning needs of patients and families and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocate for patients’ physical and emotional well-being.
