About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), providing care to adult patients aged 18 and older with diverse medical needs. The role is in a fast-paced environment and involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to support optimal patient outcomes. Care may include patients on chronic ventilation who may require respiratory therapy assistance.

The IMCU has 64 beds, including 15 designated neuro beds. The nurse is required to float. The shift is 6:30 AM–7:00 PM, and the required scrub color is navy blue. Common patient conditions include neurological disorders, cardiac issues, trauma, respiratory conditions including COPD, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), sepsis, myocardial infarction (MI), and post-operative care. Specialty equipment includes temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP machines, and Neptune Vapo.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) or Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification.
• Active New York RN License.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), specifically EPIC.
