About The Position

To fulfill the needs of patients in a variety of age groups, their family members, and the community by performing varied patient care tasks and functions in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements. The position is located at The Valley Hospital-Paramus and is a full-time night-shift role.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in nursing.
Current/valid State of New Jersey license or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
Completion of general nursing orientation, CPR certification, and unit-based orientation.
Computer and keyboard skills.
Medical terminology required.
One year of Peds/PICU experience required.
Ability to perform physical work involving lifting, stretching, bending, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushing, and pulling. The position is classified as Very Heavy Work; NIOSH lifting guidelines will be followed.
Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Constant talking and listening in English.
Effective oral and written communication skills, speech clarity, comprehension, deductive reasoning, and inductive reasoning.
Ability to perform work accurately, pay attention to detail, and move between tasks efficiently and composurely.
Ability to function competently in stressful situations and changing work environments related to patients' acute, chronic, complex, and/or terminal disease processes.
Ability to work cooperatively with multidisciplinary team members.
Effective time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
