About The Position

Virtua Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for its ICU weekend program at its Voorhees location. This is an on-site, part-time day-shift role with 12-hour shifts and 24 total weekly hours. ICU experience is required. The nurse assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care using outcome identification and evidence-based practice. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the nurse coordinates care and collaborates with colleagues, patients, and patients’ families or significant others while maintaining high professional and ethical standards.

Requirements

ICU experience is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures, and standards.
Must keep nursing skills current through ongoing education, journals, and other learning.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to coordinate the efforts of a team of care providers.
Valid New Jersey RN license, presented and maintained in accordance with the State of New Jersey Licensing Board.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
Administer, monitor, and document therapeutic interventions and treatment regimens.
Effectively manage rapidly changing situations.
Participate in clinical decision-making.
Educate patients and their families or responsible parties about disease processes, individual care needs, wellness, and safety.
Delegate and monitor care provided by other nursing department and healthcare team members.
Apply standard precautions and patient safety principles in practice.
Participate in orientation, education, and development of the healthcare team.
Identify and participate in performance improvement activities.
Maintain professional and departmental competencies.
