About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) ICU assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care through outcome identification and evidence-based practice. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the nurse coordinates care and communicates and collaborates with other healthcare team members, patients, and patients’ families or significant others. The nurse maintains high standards of professional ethics. ICU experience is required. This is a part-time, on-site day-shift role in the Weekend Program, scheduled for 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., totaling 24 hours per week.

Requirements

ICU experience.
Knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures, and standards.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to coordinate the efforts of a team of care providers.
Valid New Jersey RN license; approved licenses must be presented and maintained in accordance with the State of New Jersey Licensing Board.
Maintain nursing knowledge and skills through ongoing education and review of current practice.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
Administer, monitor, and document therapeutic interventions and regimens.
Effectively manage rapidly changing situations.
Participate in clinical decision-making.
Educate patients and their families or responsible parties about disease processes, individual care needs, wellness, and safety.
Delegate and monitor care provided by other members of the nursing department and healthcare team.
Demonstrate standard precautions and patient safety principles in practice.
Participate in orientation, education, and development of the healthcare team.
Identify and participate in performance improvement activities.
Maintain professional and departmental competencies.
