About The Position

IU Health is seeking an experienced, compassionate Registered Nurse to join the Adult Progressive Care/Step-Down Unit at IU Health Saxony in Fishers. The unit cares for adult patients with intermediate-acuity needs who require closer monitoring and more complex nursing interventions than a medical-surgical unit, but do not require intensive-care-level services. The RN provides comprehensive, patient-centered care, including management of complex medical conditions, continuous monitoring, frequent assessments, medication titration within scope and policy, patient and family education, and interdisciplinary coordination to support safe progression of care. The role requires strong clinical judgment, composure under pressure, organization, and the ability to recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition. Full-time and part-time day shifts are available, with 12-hour shifts, every-third-weekend rotation, and holiday rotation.

  • Current Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification, or obtain it within the organization’s designated timeframe; other advanced life support certifications may be required according to unit or department policies.
  • Ability to assess and manage patients with complex medical, cardiac, respiratory, neurologic, and post-procedural needs.
  • Strong critical-thinking, communication, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills.
