About The Position

The Express Care RN practices autonomously and in accordance with professional nursing standards, the Illinois Nurse Practice Act, and Anderson Hospital policies and procedures. The nurse is responsible for safe and effective patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and outcome evaluation, within the parameters of the Illinois Nursing and Advanced Practice Nursing Act. The role promotes safe and effective care for patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Illinois nursing license or eligibility for an Illinois nursing license.
• CPR certification required.

Nice To Haves

• At least two years of nursing experience in an acute care facility preferred.
• Previous emergency care and/or urgent care facility experience preferred.
• Previous charge experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate flexibility to meet staffing needs of the department and organization.
• Use the nursing process effectively to support optimal nursing care and patient outcomes.
• Provide safe, skillful, accurate, efficient, age-appropriate, and population-specific care to newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Assess patient and family learning needs; provide ongoing education and evaluate learning. Document readiness to learn, teaching, barriers, and outcomes.
• Complete documentation accurately and promptly in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Provide leadership and autonomy in professional practice, including assisting with new employee orientation, precepting student nurses, delegating appropriately, managing time and responsibilities, and functioning as Charge RN.
• Support patient rights and responsibilities, respecting cultural, ethical, and religious diversity.
• Expand and enhance the professional nursing role through continuing education, support for professional nursing organizations and certification, evidence-based practice, research, and committee or council involvement.
