About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This is a 13-week backfill contract position focused on providing high-quality patient care during recovery after surgery.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience in a PACU or similar setting.
• Current PALS, ACLS, and BLS certifications.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the PACU, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and overall condition following anesthesia.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to physician orders.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and document progress in medical records.
• Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members about care and progress.
• Assist with patient education concerning post-operative care and recovery.
• Participate in the unit’s quality improvement initiatives.
