Registered Nurse (RN) Freestanding ER
About The Position
Inova Oakville is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join its team as the facility expands in Northern Virginia’s Eastern Region. Inova Health Center – Oakville is a new outpatient facility in Alexandria’s Potomac Yard neighborhood, with a full-service emergency room, ambulatory surgery, imaging services, primary care, and other medical offices. Its emergency room is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and treats patients of all ages. The facility uses CT scans, ultrasounds, X-rays, and laboratory testing, and is staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians and specialized nurses. The position is full-time and works mid shifts (11 a.m.–11 p.m. or 1 p.m.–1 a.m.). During orientation, nurses rotate through day, mid, and night shifts. Requirements
- At least one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in an acute care setting.
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing. Nurses with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) must complete a BSN within five years of their start date.
- RN license, or eligibility to practice as an RN in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Proficiency in English.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others.
- Proficient computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of Emergency Department RN experience is strongly preferred.
- CEN or ACLS certification is desired.
