About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for an Emergency Department (ED CWR / Inpatient Holding) assignment. The RN will provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients across all age groups, including trauma, medical, surgical, and psychiatric emergencies. This role requires strong clinical judgment, rapid assessment skills, and the ability to prioritize care effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate will possess recent Emergency Department experience, strong telemetry knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently in both emergency and inpatient holding settings.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required.
  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) License or Multi-State Compact License.
  • Minimum 18 months of recent Emergency Department experience.
  • Emergency Department experience within the last 6 months required.
  • Strong medical-surgical and telemetry experience.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Telemetry Competency
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
  • 4-Hour Stroke Continuing Education (CEU)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Previous experience in high-volume, high-acuity Emergency Department settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department and inpatient holding areas.
  • Perform rapid patient assessments and triage incoming patients.
  • Manage trauma, medical, surgical, and psychiatric emergencies.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions.
  • Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in electronic medical records.
  • Respond promptly to codes and critical emergencies.
  • Float to related units as required based on operational needs.
  • Maintain patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and ongoing care.
