About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), caring for adults aged 18 and older with neurological, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions. The unit has 64 beds, including 15 designated Neuro beds. Common diagnoses and care needs include COPD, DKA, sepsis, myocardial infarction, CV stepdown, and post-operative care. Specialty equipment includes temporary pacers, chest tubes, A-lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo. The unit supports chronic ventilator patients who are unable to be weaned, with Respiratory Therapy assistance available.

The shift runs from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Floating across units is required as needed. The required scrub color is navy blue.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in an IMCU or PCU setting.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current NIHSS certification.
• Experience with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC.
• Valid RN license in New York and any other state licenses.

Responsibilities

• Care for adult patients with neurological, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions.
• Provide care for patients with diagnoses and needs including COPD, DKA, sepsis, myocardial infarction, CV stepdown, and post-operative care.
• Float across units as needed.
• Care for chronic ventilator patients who are unable to be weaned, with Respiratory Therapy assistance available.
