About The Position

Harborview Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Inpatient Psychiatry unit (5WB). The unit serves adults ages 18–99 with a variety of mental health diagnoses, co-occurring chemical dependency disorders, and medical needs. Care includes chronic and sub-acute medical conditions that may require additional treatment and education, as well as DBT skill building and CBT skills group therapy for patients.

This is a regular, permanent evening-shift position at 90% FTE. Harborview is a level one adult and pediatric trauma center, regional burn center, teaching and research hospital for the University of Washington, and public/safety-net hospital for its diverse community.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Have or obtain a Washington state nursing license to practice.
• Two or more years of experience in psychiatric nursing or an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with a variety of mental health diagnoses and co-occurring chemical dependency disorders.
• Address patients’ medical needs, including chronic and sub-acute medical conditions that may require additional treatment and education.
• Provide DBT skill building and CBT skills group therapy to patients.

Benefits

• BSN or higher premium of $1.00 per hour.
• Certification premium of $1.25 per hour.
• Evening shift differential of $5.00 per hour.
• Weekend shift differential of $4.00 per hour.
• Overtime pay.
