About The Position

Sentara RMH Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for Mother/Baby and Nursery. Preferred applicants will have experience specifically in Mother Baby/Nursery and will cross train into other areas of the unit. The schedule is primarily 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and holiday requirements. Sentara RMH Medical Center, a Magnet designated hospital located in Harrisonburg VA, serves a seven-county area with a population of 218,000 residents, employing 2600 locals. The 238-bed community hospital has been serving Harrisonburg, Rockingham County and surrounding areas since 1912, then partnered with the Sentara Health System in May of 2011. Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing
  • Registered nursing license required
  • BLS within 90 days of hire
  • NRP within 6 months of hire
  • 2 years of acute care registered nurse experience in Women's health preferred
  • 1 year of acute care registered nursing experience highly preferred
  • Mother/Baby or Nursery specific Experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of patient safety protocols.
  • Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments
  • Communication with patients and providers

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or MSN Preferred
  • EFM- Electronic Fetal monitoring preferred
  • Certified Obstetrics Nursing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive, patient-centered care in a dynamic healthcare setting.
  • Assesses patient needs, develops individualized care plans, delivers treatments, and supports patients and families with education and compassionate service.
  • Collaborates within an interdisciplinary team to monitor patient progress, make clinical adjustments, and advocate for the best patient outcomes, ensuring safety and adherence to evidence-based practices.
